Another Wild Kitchen is done. Fed 57 people seated! Our biggest yet. People ate together, met eachother, learned a bit about foraging, and had some good food. Doesn’t get too much better. These was the second venture of the Wild Kitchen above ground. Last time at Mojo Cafe, and this time at SoCha. It was fun, but I think we’re going back under. I made some acorn bread, chanterelle bisque, and porcini toasts. Boris made Black Walnut financier w/ black olive paper (really amazing dish), Chocolate mousse with wild rosemary, and a foraged persimmons persimmon dish. It was a good night.
Was a bit stressful in the beginning, when we couldn’t find any plates or glasses, was thinking this was going to be the one, the one where I crash and burn. Was imaging people eating off the table, or out of big communal dishes in the center of the table (could have been fun). We finally found plates, people ate, they drank, I talked about processing acorns, was a good time all around. Below are pictures. If you missed this one, and want to come to the next, signup here . See you there. These photos are by Lori Eanes, great photographer that came to help us out.
